The Story of Us–#VlogMom Question of the Week

This morning I took advantage of the fact that I had makeup on and decided to film this week’s Vlog Mom prompt before working out, so that I could share it with you.  This week’s prompt comes from Alissa from Clever Compass: How did you and your spouse meet?

Last weekend was the 12th anniversary of when Jon & I started seeing each other.  While it took us many months before we were officially dating, I don’t think there was a span of more than 2 weeks in the first 3 years that we spent apart.

Want to know how we met and started dating?  OF COURSE YOU DO!! It’s a pretty good story and you’ll get to see my new haircut!! So get on it!

What Charity Would You Donate $1 Million To & Why? #VlogMom

This week I was the topic chooser and I decided to ask my fellow #VlogMom members, what charity would you give $1 million  to if you had it and why…I am loving all their answers (see the linky below).

As many of you know both of my grandmothers passed away within 2 months of each other last year after long battles with Hodgkins Lymphoma; I also have another member of our immediate family who is in remission from Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma. It is for this reason that I chose the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society as the charity I would give my fictitious cash to.

Among their other accolades, the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society can honestly say they direct over 78% of the donations collected to patient services.  When I say patient services I mean it goes for  for cancer research, patient & family services, and public health & physician education.  The patient & family services also includes financial aide to families needing help.  I know the Society helped our family pay for gas and occasional hotel rooms when it was no longer feasible for us to do so and I am thankful for it.

This #VlogMom Wants to Know Which Celeb You Would Spend Time With

Welcome to another installment of #VlogMom, this week our topic comes from Rachel from RachelFerrucci.com, and she wants to know :: If you could be friends and hang out with one celebrity, who would it be and why?

Well…this was a hard one for me.  There is a never ending supply of muscians, philanthropists, celebrities, and socialpreurs that I would like to hang out and get to know.  The person who stuck out in my mind the most was Kathy Ireland though.  After seeing her speak at the first Disney Social Media Moms Celebration I found that my respect for her grew and was based not only on her humor and success, but also on her perseverance and humanity.

Throughout her career of modeling, acting, writing, and building and growing her business Kathy Ireland has proven that she is an inspiration and role model for myself and women entrepreneurs everywhere.
