Surf Sweets Organic Candy Giveaway (CLOSED)

surf-sweets

If you have a child, then you have at some point had candy in your home.  Was that candy made with organic fruit juice and sweeteners, natural colors and flavors? Was it free of Corn Syrup, GMOs, or Gluten? Did it have 100% of your daily Vitamin C? No? Then it wasn’t Surf Sweets candy.

Not only do Surf Sweets taste delicious, but it’s nice to know that what I am allowing my girls to have won’t have any long term negative effects on their bodies.  According to the non-profit Center for Science in the Public Interest, Yellow 5, Red 40, and six other widely used artificial colorings are linked to hyperactivity and behavior problems in children and should be prohibited from use in foods. Surf Sweets uses NO artificial colors or flavors and use organic fruit juices and sweeteners.

prod_worms_smMy daughters actually prefer Surf Sweets gummy candy over “name brand” gummy candy and so do I. I am a candy fanatic (I know, I’m supposed to be losing weight and NOT eating candy), so I had to try these candies. My absolute favorite is the Surf Sweets Sour WormsSurf Sweets Gummy Worms, and all their gummy candy, is softer and easier to chew than “name brand” candies.  They nearly melt in your mouth and the taste is so fresh!  I love that it tastes like real fruit, rather than the artificial fruit that sometimes passes for fruit flavor.  The jelly beans taste just like, if not a little better, than Jelly Bellys and knowing that they are better for my girls makes them a solid sell for me!

Surf Sweets sent me a box of their fabulous treats to try, including Jelly Beans (97% organic), Sour Worms (97% organic), Gummy Bears (97% organic), Fruity Bears (96% organic), Gummy Swirls (87% organic), and Gummy Worms (91% organic).  I took these treats to my Wednesday night Mission Friends class for the kids to have as a snack. My kids are notoriously picky in this class, there is always someone who doesn’t like something that is being offered. I figured this was the perfect setting to get honest reviews from kids about how the candy really tastes. Let me tell you, they were a HIT! Of course all kids love candy and my kids couldn’t tell there was anything different about this candy. It was all gone before snack-time was over and the kids were very happy. They loved it! I loved knowing I wasn’t filling their little bodies with artificial flavors.

The fabulous people from Tru Sweets/Surf Sweets have generously offered to give one of my readers a Sweet Prize Pack. Prize pack will include an assortment of Surf Sweets products, t-shirt, and a $20 gift certificate to www.naturalcandystore.com
How great is that?!  I am SO excited to be giving something this delicious and healthy away!

Baby Dipper and GIVEAWAY! (CLOSED)

wfmw3

baby-dipper-bowl

With an independent 22 month old it was only a matter of time before she decided “I DO!” applied to eating…well, everything. She wont let me help her eat cereal, ice cream, or anything else. She is her mother’s child. Which I appreciate, but it does get messy and a bit of a hassle to clean.

Enter the Baby Dipper bowl. This unique bowl makes KJ’s feeding herself easier AND less messy. It’s shaped like a triangle with a non-slip bottom surface which keeps it from sliding. A sloped inside surface and spoon-shaped collection point make it so easy for her to gather the food…now if they made some way for her to getsideways-chair the food into her mouth with out dropping half of it on her lap.

She asks for her bowl every time we sit down to eat, which may force me to invest in more than one since I hate doing dishes. The Baby Dipper is also great for parents who are trying to feed their baby and are tired of chasing the bowl all around the table. We tested it’s stickiness by putting it on our wooden chairs and holding them sideways, so no slipping. None. It didn’t move at all.  I love this thing!

If you’re like me, then you need one of these. Well…Barbara, the owner and brain behind Baby Dipper, has graciously decided to give a Baby Dipper to one of my readers.

Congratulations to #10 Painter Mommy

MomAgenda~A Review

First let me just say “Welcome” to all of my first time visitors! I am so glad you found me, whether it was through 24/7MOMS or just blind luck.  I am looking forward to sharing  what I learn and learning from what YOU share.  Please take a moment, grab a cup of tea, and look around…make yourself comfortable. And let me know if there’s anything I can get ya.

I was recently asked to try the MomAgenda and write an honest review. Let me say first that I would not have agreed if I had felt pressured to write a strictly positive review or to give a biased opinion.  With that said…I cannot now imagine my life without my MomAgenda! I mean it!  It is just wonderful.  And SO helpful.

We are going on vacation tomorrow and I have been so lucky to have been able to plan most of our trip using the vacation planning section of my MomAgenda. With the color coded pages, it was easy to find and use for jotting down dates, places for lodging, budgeting, rental car information (we don’t have one), and more.  There is ample space for putting down thoughts on what to pack, what groceries to buy, where to eat, and our itinerary.  The MomAgenda has just been an invaluable resource; I have been able to keep all of my confirmation numbers and other important information in ONE place rather than strewn all over my house and in the wrong place when I need it.

While I “only” have two small daughters to keep my busy, some days it feels more like four or five.  We are very active in our community, church, with our family that some times it can be easy to get lost…mentally.  Recently, I had been using four different wall calendars to keep up with all our different activities AND the menu planning.  Yes, it was silly looking and yes, it does take up Alot of room.  Not anymore my friends!  I now have all of my needed information: schedules, menus, grocery lists, addresses and birthdays…and so much more safely and totally encased in my cute MomAgenda.  Oh, and by cute I mean stylish.  I love that it’s pink!  It comes in a ton of different styles, colors, and sizes to fit everyone’s tastes.  I plan to make this a Christmas present to myself and my crazy busy mom friends.

Check out MomAgenda right now and get yours!  Come back and let me know which one you fell in love with!  While your at it cruise by 24/7MOMS for some great reading and advice.
