I Fail at Parenting for the Night

Soo…apparently sometime around midnight last night there was a storm and this storm, apparently, frightened KJ pretty good because in the middle of said storm, while spending the night at Lisa’s (one of her favorite places to be), KJ wanted to come home.  And Lisa called our house phone and both cell phones to no avail.

Now, that’s a testament to how tired (or old) we are.

First of all, we were in bed before midnight on a Friday night with no kids. <cough. lame. cough.> Truth be told, I had been in bed since before 10pm.  Life is exhausting.

Second, we were SO asleep that we didn’t hear either of our cell phones or our house phone that was BESIDE MY HEAD.  Yeah. Need I say more?

I mean, clearly, having children is whittling away at our very beings so much so we’re actually DEAD TO THE WORLD when we sleep and our souls are so much depleted that exhaustion rules the day.

Yeah. So now, nearly 9 hours later, I find out that KJ got scared in the middle of the night and wanted to come home…but we didn’t hear the call, so she says she didn’t get any sleep all night.

Now…I know she did, because I have talked with Lisa…but KJ probably just thinks I’m the Mommy-who-ignored-her and therefore must not really love her.  Sigh.

OH well.

Are you exhausted too?
