Do you make New Year’s Resolutions? Yeah, me neither. Well…this year I am. Kinda. What I’m really doing is choosing some goals I would like to accomplish through the year {yes, I know that is the definition of a resolution}…through focus. Following Mari’s lead, I have chosen a key word to focus on for the coming year: Focus.

Rather than do a regular resolutions list that will be forgotten I wanted to share with you a look at my goals and the affirmations that will lead to success.

2011 Personal Goals and Affirmations

Healthier Living: Affirmation – I am healthier than I have ever been and am a healthy weight.

Prosperity: Affirmation – I enjoy a financial life of ease and am free from worry.

Business Expansion: Affirmation– I have a wonderful business, in a wonderful way, and I give wonderful service for wonderful pay.

Family Harmony: Affirmation – I have a wonderful family that is happy, healthy, and prosperous.

Positive Thinking: Affirmation – I feed my body and subconscious only positive thoughts and expel negative feelings.

What are your goals for the new year? Do you make resolutions or just forgo it?

Tomorrow I’ll share my tentative editorial calendar for the next year.

Tomorrow I’ll be listing some of my blog goals as well as my life goals for the coming year, but tonight before I head off to bed I wanted to give a little heads up. I know I was been worse than inconsistent in 2009 with my writing, but I have a plan to change it…

Here’s a schedule of what you can expect from my in 2010, well, at least from my writing.

Monday: I plan to vlog each Monday a recap of the past week and weekend…basically just check in with ya’ll once a week.

Tuesday: Tasty Tuesday-I have had a great response on Twitter and FB to this meme so I’m going to continue it and share with you a favorite recipe from the past week.

Wednesday: Look for me to post photos for Wordless Wednesday and occasionally a Works for Me Wednesday post (you know when I find something that works ).

Thursday: I am going to be taking Thursdays off from blogging to work on some other irons I have in the fire…plus I feel like it will be good for me to have a day off form blogging in the middle of the week.

Friday: This is still up in the air. I would like to start taking requests….like what do you want to know more about…and write about that, but until I get some requests or ideas for posts you’re interested in I am going to be covering social media, tech, and finance on Fridays.

Saturdays: This is a day I’m looking forward to! I have restarted my Link Love posts, each Saturday I plan to link to several blog posts/web articles that have taught me something in the last week. If you have something you think I should see feel free to contact me!

Sundays: Family day. No blogging on this day either…no outside work at all.

Of course, keep looking out for more posts about my crazy life with my beautiful sweet girls sporadically thrown in there!

And be sure to check out the Featured Mom-biz each month!

I’m also looking for more ways to connect with you, my readers, so please feel free to drop me an email or comment anytime!

Thanks for sticking with me in 2009 and I look forward to getting to know you better in 2010.

Hello from my couch! I’m writing this as I watch Twilight for the bajillionth time as a reward for eating right and working out today. I’ve never done a Mamavation Monday before but upon @BookieBoo’s request I’m gonna bite the proverbial bullet and write it. Bear with me I’m not sure how this is supposed to go.

I’ve always been the one to be aware of what I’m putting in my body, to be aware of my body, and how it reacts to stress…I have never been an emotional eater, well, ok…I am, but I’ve never allowed it to get out of hand. Until recently.

My extended family has had some issues recently and I am the ear piece for all the issues…so I turned to food. I’m a mixer. I like to mix chocolate with salty potato chips…but honestly I would eat anything I could get my hands on. It got bad. I gained 20 pounds.

Yep.

20 pounds.

Since August.

SO here I am. 167 pounds (but still down two pounds from last week!).

Yikes. Do you know that I only weighed 175 at my largest during my second pregnancy.

So yeah, here I am. Desperately grappling with my stress and trying to push back down the monster. I’m making better choices and being conscious about the food I put in my mouth again. I’m keeping the chocolate, the chips, the tasty fatty foods out of my home.

I’ve also started working out again with my Wii. I love the EASports Active…well, love is an overstatement. I hate working out. I’ve always been a sporty girl. I’ve always played a ton of sports and been outside most of the time, but with kiddos it’s become nearly impossible. So I’ve taken to the Wii…I get a good workout and always feel really great afterward!

I’m gonna add some goals here, so I can keep up with myself.

Goals:

* Lose 25 pounds by April

* Work out 5 days a week

* Eat 25 servings of fruits and vegetables each week.

* Drink 60 oz of water a day.

So there you go guys. I’m not sure if I did this right, but there it is all the same. SO guys hold me accountable!

Keep up with the other Mamavation Moms over on Bookie Boo.

TV turnoff week is April 21-27 this year, so that means it’s time for the second annual Unplug Your Kids TV-Turnoff Week Blog Challenge! Since this is my first year, I don’t have any way to look back and analyze what worked for us last year and what didn’t…so I’m kind of flying by the seat of my pants, though Mom Unplugged has some great suggestions on her blog! This week is all about reducing the amount of “screen time” you family gets. For me this isn’t just television…it’s my computer time. My girls and I don’t watch much television really…at least not compared to what we used to. Now they just watch Seaseme Street in the mornings with the occasional afternoon “Arthur” and “Veggie Tales” on Friday. I would really like to put down here some of my goals for this week…though I hope most carry over for the rest of the year.

1: To keep the Television off everyday for the entire day.

2: I want us to spend at least the majority of the time that would have been spent watching television doing something as a family. Reading more books, doing crafts, practicing our writing, and board games are just a couple of ideas for us.

3: To cut my computer time down to 1 hour a day rather than the 4-5 regularly spent on here.

4: Keep all electronic toys turned off and find ways to amuse ourselves without them.

5: To take this week as an opportunity to work on connecting with the girls and Hubby.

6: For Hubby and I to spend the evenings reading the Bible together (again) and finishing Dave Ramsey’s Total Money Makeover Workbook.

I am really looking forward to joining in on this challenge because I have been slowly decreasing our “screen time” and increasing our “face time”…now this is the perfect chance to cut it out all together. I am hoping that the challenge will keep me accountable, thus motivating me to not give up…even when I run out of ideas!

Tun over to Unplug Your Kids and sign up your family/blog for the 2nd Annual TV Turnoff Week Blog Challenge!!
