Why My Hubby is the Very Best: From BowlHer 09

Thanks to Campbells Soup for letting me give a shout out to my fabulous hubby!  He really is the very best! I am SO lucky!

Be sure to check out everyone’s videos!

BlogHer 09 Recap

Well, here it is…my customary Post BlogHer recap.  Now, I don’t promise anything juicy here…you’ll find no name calling, no bashing (except swag hags), and little complaining. I think there has probably been enough negativity and the people I was lucky enough to spend the weekend with deserve better than that. Ladies, you know who you are, I love you. Each of you. Because you made my weekend the fabulousness that it was. I miss you already and I can’t wait to see you again.

I want to drop in this video that chronicles the first bit of my trip: Enjoy and try not to laugh at my accent too much. =)

Highlights and What I learned:

  • Always bring small bills.  People actually expect to be tipped with cash!
  • Anissa doesn’t care if you butcher her name, she’ll still have a drink with you.
  • Ford is making strides to becoming sustainable, and they get it. There are a ton of women involved in the decision making at Ford.
  • Thanks to Go Girl Go women can now pee standing up.
  • Like MamaSpohr, my IRL friends and online friends have now merged. There is no distinction.  She moved me.  She’s amazing.
  • Grace Davis saved my life. Thank you. I love you.
  • It’s good to have a good friend to hold you when you cry.  Thank you Shannan.
  • Two massages and a manicure on Friday is just what I needed after my first full day. Thank you Energizer.
  • It is not possible to do and see everything or everybody you want. You will evitably miss someone or something and feel terrible about it.
  • Pick the right roomates. Kelby and Tara brought the awesome! Oh btw, girls..fu cat. :)
  • The Rock and Roll McDonalds is not two blocks from The Sheraton. Thanks for going with me…you know who you are.
  • Woman are vicious. Not just for swag (hags.) but vicious even when they know there will be no swag or when there is any involved. –That is all I have to say about the negativity.
  • Oh, and AHEM. When you are going to have 1500+ internet using women descend upon your hotel, it is a good idea to actually have usable wireless internet.
  • The parties are fun, but the time spent in small groups is the best spent time.
  • On the subject of parties: TypeAMomfluence rawked it and BowlHer was unforgettable.
  • Grabbing a classy and light dinner of wine, cheese, and chocolate with Ilina, Jennifer, Kelby, and Astacia was the best way to spend my last dinner.
  • Handing out swag @BowlHer was a ball. Thanks to everyone who helped me and congrats to Collective Bias, One to One Network, and Campbells for a job well done.
  • To have a good time all you have to do is forget your inhibitions and just start introducing yourself. You see, I’m sure there was drama..but I didn’t see it so it doesn’t color my weekend.

I hope those of you who didn’t get to come will forgive my gushing and thanks to those who made all that gushing possible. You guys are amazing.

Thank you to the sponsors large and small who made BlogHer possible. You were noted and appreciated. Thank You to BlogHer for putting on another spectacular conference and for the lack of voice (still).

Now I know I’ve missed many people and many events and for that I’m sorry.

This post was made possible by Wellesse who sponsored my hotel stay in Chicago at BlogHer 09.
