BLOGHER!! A High Impact Conference for a High Impact Mom

Well Hello Chicago!! SO looking forward to getting to know you better! Beautiful buildings and Lake Michagan can be found from my hotel room window here at the Chicago Sheraton…oh, and I can see Oprah’s digs over at the NBC tower right outside my bedroom.

In about an hour many of us Ford Mamas will be heading out to a yummy Italian resturant for some schomoozing and getting to know each other better.

I am too pumped to have already met Anissa Mayhew (@anissamayhew) and Christy (@MoreThanMommy) down at the bar! They totally made me feel welcome and totally not a dork.

I am going to jump off here to get ready for our awesome #FordBlogHer Dinner!!

Thanks again to Wellesse for sponsoring my trip here in Chicago! You guys are awesome!

High Impact Mom Business Cards are Here!

I ordered my brand new High Impact Mom business cards for BlogHer last week from Vista Print and yesterday I got them in the mail. The pictures don’t really do them justice…but I still think they look good!

The cards look great and are exactly what I wanted, so I’m pretty pumped. Of course I have my Poken all set up and ready to go as well!

So tell me…what’cha think? Do you like them?

Ford’s What Women Want Vehicle Tech and Quality Event

As part of my BlogHer experience, myself and about 50 other bloggers will be taking part in Ford’s What Women Want event next Thursday morning in Chicago.  I feel so honored to be part of this group of women and to be involved with such an awesome company.

Ford Family

My grandfather retired from a Ford plant when I was still small, but we never owned anything but a Ford.  My dad now hauls Ford parts and still drives Ford F150.  We’re a Ford family, always have been…that’s why I jumped at the chance to be involved in such an awesome opportunity.

Ford Shows Us Around

I understand we are all in for a treat, from breakfast with Ford’s Manager of Digital and Multimedia Communications, Scott Monty; then it’s off to the Ford Chicago Assembly plant where we’re going to learn all about how the new 2010 Ford Taurus is being made

We’ll also be test driving the all new 2010 Ford Fusion and get the scoop on the most Eco-friendly driving techniques so your car can be more fuel efficient. Ford will be giving us a glimpse into the new eco-conscious features of their new line of cars, including using more sustainable materials and processes in the building of your new car. There is so much more to be packed into Thursday too, but don’t worry, I’ll be blogging it all from inside Ford’s Upload Lounge.

I am most excited to learn more about how their new Active Park Assist system works. They say with just the touch of a button your new car will parallel park it’s self (amazing!!) I can’t even wrap my head around that!! Course the new SYNC functions in Ford’s new line of redesigned cars will allow me to operate my BlackBerry’s music player with just voice commands…much safer than the way I go about it now.

What Women Want Roundtable Discussions

After learning about the new Ford, we will have the opportunity to participate in the Ford What Women Want Roundtable discussions.  Ford wants to know all about what we look for and value in a new car and I plan to tell them just what I’m looking for.  BUT I also want to tell them what you are looking for in a car.

Reader’s Challenge

So please share with me! I challenge you to tell me all about what it YOU want to see added to cars or what is important to you that they keep. Share with me your concerns and any questions you might have for Ford, I promise to pass them along!

If you want to follow along with the discussion on Twitter just search for the #FordBlogHer hashtag…Sideline: My new Twitter ID is @highimpactmom now in anticipation of the new site opening next week!

Keep watching for what I’m looking for in a car…and believe me I’ve been putting a lot of thought into it.

Wellesse offers a variety of products including Liquid Vitamin D3 , Glucosamine Liquid, Liquid Calcium and Vitamin D, ALL DAY Energy.

Wellesse sent me a sample of their Liquid Vitamin D3 for myself and my family to test and review earlier this year.  After a month of using it my family was hooked, we love the taste (it’s a bit on the sour side) and the smooth texture.  I love that even KG can be protected since children as young as four can safely enjoy this supplement.

Recently, Wellesse has started their own blog that features awesome health and wellness articles and advice.  I encourage you to hop on over there and learn a little something about how to take care of your body in a more mindful manner.

If you are interested in purchasing and trying the liquid Vitamin D3, be sure to print out the $2 off coupon available on the site!

**Disclosure: Wellesse has sponsored my hotel charges for BlogHer 09 and in exchange I will help promote their company in a variety of ways.**

Self.com Challenge Weigh In Week 2

This week was especially tough and it has been hard not to give into the temptation of late night cravings. I have lost a total of 7 pounds now and am down to 158lbs which for me slf_rr_300x75_challenge1isn’t too bad. I’m pretty proud of myself.  I’m feeling much better today, so I’ll be jumping back on the exercise/strength training bandwagon today.

Self.com‘s diary has been great for keeping me on track with my eating and encouraging me with the weightloss tracker.

My dress is kind of sleeveless (oh, and it was not designed for BlogHer, I just meant I was wearing TO BlogHer) and I need my arms to look great. Any suggestions on exercises to work my arms?
