Fun in the Sun…and dumping water on your child’s head

I love Kindergarten!  I mean it, not only has kindergarten been a great place for KG to learn, it’s F. U. N.!!!  I’ve had the pleasure of attending many fun and fantastic kindergarten activities over the past year, but my favorite thus far has to be last Friday.  Fun in the Sun Day. Doesn’t the name just bring to mind smiles and laughter?  Oh, it was great.

After spending an hour or so playing hard on the playground with chalk, hula hoops, and bubbles (!) and gorging ourselves on honeysuckle, our trooped marched excitedly back to the room for some much needed refreshments.  Once our appetites and exhaustion had been sated we hurried back outside for the good stuff: the water fun.

Close your eyes and imagine with me: 75+/- five year olds given free rein with buckets and tubs full of water, sponges, and water balloons. Now imagine the teachers, many armed with fully-loaded high-powered semi-automatic water guns.  That’s right. kg_wet Sit back and enjoy the chaos and joy that ensued for as long as the water did.

In the midst of it all I managed to pour a bucket of water on KG’s head. And she didn’t cry.  In fact, she and her friends led a revolt against me and soaked me right back.

Sigh.  A good time was had by all.
