It’s no secret that my weight and body image is an issue. I write about it weekly. I struggled to stay fit, trim, and healthy as a teenager and have been struggling since child birth four years ago to get fit, trim, and healthy. It’s been a battle, but I’m getting there. With only 10 more pounds to go before I’m at my goal weight I’m starting to think about maintenance and what I will do with the jiggle once I get there. A very beautiful friend of mine introduced me to CoolSculpting recently and after checking out the website and watching the explanation videos and testimonials I’m convinced want in! With CoolSculpting’s FDA-approved revolutionary treatment, you can sculpt away the post-baby muffin top “naturally, safely, and without surgery”!

What is CoolSculpting?

Performed right in the doctor’s office, CoolSculpting targets fat cells and cools them to temps that trigger their ‘natural’ death without damage to nerves or other tissue and without the use of needles or anesthetics. Over the course of the next several weeks or months, the fat cells actually shrink and die as your body metabolizes and eliminates them. In just 90 days, FDA-approved CoolSculpting allegedly shrinks the fat layer noticeably giving you the results you desire in a very targeted area. Not for those who still have a long way to go in their weight-loss journey, CoolSculpting is a good, though pricy, option for those who just need to get rid of those love handles or left over baby-pouch.

Now see…my question was…what about the pain?

IS there pain?

After searching online, I found while there may be some sensations of cold, um hello it IS called CoolSculpting, there is relatively little pain during and after the procedure. For person with a low pain threshold, this is important information to know.

Watch this great video from CoolSculpting to learn more about how you can say bye-bye to love handles!

Want to win your own CoolSculpting treatment? I thought so! Just fill out the below Google Doc and one lucky winner from ALL of the combined 14 blogs will win a treatment of their own! ($2500 value)

With a sleek design and repositioned buttons, the Pantech Breakout adds a little visual interest to the ever-growing list of 4G capable smartphones. It’s compact design, a 12mm design, combined with 4” touch display metal buttons and grips make this phone as fun to look at as it is to use. One of my favorite feature, and I’m sure the favorite of many others, is the ability to switch between seven different home screens and customize everything to your tastes and needs. Running Android’s 2.3 Gingerbread OS and a 1 Ghz Fusion processor, the Breakout can handle all of my apps and data usage without any problems or slow-downs.

My only complaint comes with the camera. At 5 megapixels, this camera just doesn’t stand up against even other mid-grade smart phones and while the front facing camera is a nice feature, if it doesn’t take good pictures what’s the point? Honestly though, if taking first rate pictures isn’t high on priority list, the Pantech Breakout is a great phone that makes 4G accessible to everyone.

The Pantech Breakout is a great first 4G smartphone and would be the perfect Christmas present for the teen in your life.

A slamming 70′s dance party, that’s what! Straight decked out in bellbottoms, flannel shirts, and mutton chops my friends and I danced our way to fun and a night of laughter with Ubisoft’s latest addition to the You Can Dance family.

Since we’re all until 30, we were pretty new to the songs of ABBA…of course we knew the big hits like Mama Mia and Fernando, but the rest of the songs and the dance moves? HA! We were utterly clueless. I didn’t play the game before hand so that I wouldn’t be at an advantage…but boy I wish I had. I’m not nearly as smooth as the smooth operators dancing in this game! The music was fun and the dance moves kept us laughing for hours! We’re looking forward to playing together again, but this time I’m practicing before!

About ABBA You Can Dance (from the Ubisoft site):

From the creators of the award-winning Just Dance® franchise comes ABBA You Can Dance. Featuring 26 timeless songs, including “Dancing Queen,” “Mamma Mia,” “Fernando,” “Waterloo,” and “Take A Chance On Me,” ABBA You Can Dance invites you to unleash your inner dancing queen and hit the dance floor with one of world’s biggest music sensations. Dance with up to four players or join in on vocals; ABBA You Can Dance is unforgettable fun for friends and family of every generation.

I would like to point out the this game is rated E10+, but I wouldn’t want my 10 year playing this game…some of the songs are suggestive and should be treated as such. If you’d like to purchase this game so that you, too, can relive the Swinging 70′s with ABBA You Can Dance, you can pick it up at Amazon (affiliate link) or Toys-R-Us.

Thanks to the fantastic disco ball and the slight libations that were consumed, we all let loose and danced our hearts out. The party was groovy, ABBA You Can Dance was rad, and a good time was had by all. My favorite song and dance was Dancing Queen, but I have to admit Voulez Vous was the most fun to watch the awkward boys try. Designed not only to give you a good time, ABBA YCD also gives you a good sweat, these moves really get you moving. I’ll be adding this to my workout regiment this week.

Do you have a favorite ABBA song?

I know what you’re thinking though…who cares if it’s for a phenomenal price…I don’t know anything about this game!

Well…let me tell you!

Set in beautiful 16th century Constantinople, Revelations is a fast paced game that keeps the player on the edge of their seat. While sequels can leave the player feeling unfulfilled and lacking; Full on action throughout, the sequel to Assassin’s Creed does not let you down. Revelations is the perfect opportunity to hone your assassin skills while you attempt to discover the meaning and the origin of the creed with your deadly assassin mentor. The perfect aggression expunging game for after a hard week in social media, school, home…whatever. Picking up where Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood left off (only a couple of days later in fact), the assassins Ezio and Desmond are searching for discs that unlock the secrets of their world.

My husband, the gamer, has been thrilled ever since my induction into the UbiChamps group through CleverGirls (which is how I got the opportunity to review this game)…however I have only just had the opportunity to review a ‘man game’ with Revelations. Needless to say, he was thrilled. Beyond that. I may have won “Coolest Wife Eva”.

One of our favorite things to do is for Jon to play and for me to kind of act as his back up…I watch the background – what’s going on the in sidelines of the game – and I point out any ‘badies’ that he might otherwise miss. I am his greatest weapon (yeah…I’m not full of myself). This game was awesome for that, because so often I am bored by the game…or the lack of storyline…and I didn’t have this problem with Revelations. I was captivated by the story, the characters, and the scenery. The ability to make bombs! Oh, the bombs…one for every situation you face…and made from such international materials. (Please note this M for MATURE and as such should not be played by children.)

That I’ve had for two years.

Yeah.

That’s right.

A lot.

However, I rarely have the time to upload them all to an online photo editing site, edit them, create a semi-generic collage…or not, save them, and then upload them again to a sharing site. It is because of this arduous process that few of these photos are seen by any eye outside of our immediate family, meaning me and Jon. What doesn’t make it, mostly unedited, to my Facebook album is rarely seen again….it’s sad really.

Recently 360PR offered members of it’s MomSquad the opportunity to try Smilebox, a desktop photo creation software that lets you quickly and easily create slideshows, invitations, greetings, collages, scrapbooks and photo albums right on your computer. With more than 1000 customizable and completely awesome templates to choose from, you’ll find inspiration in every section, I sure did!

Smilebox now also offers a new iPhone app so you can share your favorite moments with loved ones on the go as well. I’ve spent so much time over the last two weeks creating collages, scrapbook pages, and some slideshows that will make fantastic Christmas gifts for some lucky Grandparents. I love that with one piece of software allows me to do so much without forcing me to wait through my seriously slow internet. I don’t have to be online at all, I can just burn or print the creations straight from the program!

Smilebox gives you more ways to share: Facebook, email, blog, printing at home or to a store, and burning to DVD. Smilebox makes sharing photos with your family and friends easy, unique and memorable. And it’s not just pictures, oh no, you can turn home videos into lasting keepsakes that will become treasures for years to come.

Here’s a collage I made with a few pictures from BlogHer:

How do you share your favorite memories?

Disclosure: I reviewed this software in conjunction with a paid campaign with 360PR’s MomSquad. The opinions shared in this post about the program are my own and honest.

This is my eldest girl, KG, who since she spent the most time playing the game, I felt should be the one giving you the review of Ubisoft’s Raving Rabbids Travel in Time. KG’s favorite part of the game is when you are able to spend time in the dressing room changing your Rabbid’s outfits and making them look different. KG is a huge gamer…for an 8 year old who isn’t allowed to play violent games. The one thing she would change about the entire game was the fact that the gas in the game was green and she thought purple would have made a better gas color. In her opinion Raving Rabbids Travel in Time is suitable for ages 6 & up (I agree) and should be rated E for everyone (it is.). Already KG has recommended this game to several of her friends and I am sure if they ask she will continue to do the same.

As for me, I’ll admit that I, too, am a bit addicted to the adorable mischievous little rabbids and enjoy every minute of their craziness. The game is easy to play with no tricky finger and thumb combos to master and is relatively nonviolent. The Rabbids really appeal to both girls and boys with their silly antics and nonsense language. It’s so much fun and has been a fun bonding game for me and KG.

Disclosure: Thank you to Ubisoft for sponsoring this UbiChamps blog post. Please click here to learn more about Ubisoft. I was selected for this sponsorship by the Clever Girls Collective. All opinions are my own.

Are you like me? DO you keep every single piece of paper that comes home from school or the doctor’s office? And now…well, now that school is back in session “the pile” (as it’s lovingly referred to in our home) is starting to take over your “office” and it’s taking over the desk. I am notorious for keeping every single piece paper, every packet and brochure that KG’s school sends home at the first of the year…or who are we kidding? Throughout the year. I’m sure I’ll continue to do so, but it occurs to me that when the paperwork is multiplying like rabbits and getting a bit out of control I might need some help.

I don’t want to keep putting KG & KJ’s artwork into a tub in the garage never to be looked at, forgotten. Yet, that’s what’s happening. Every year I find myself saving so much of the precious artwork haphazardly in plastic bins tucked away in a dark corner of our garage. When will I have the time to look at them again?

And when you add the amount of paper work that comes along with having to children with juvenile asthma, the immunization records, and the new addition KG’s baptism certificate…and all of Mommy & Daddy’s personal paper work I’m sure you’ll agree that something must be done to help me keep all of these personal items organized…and preferably all in one place.

In an effort to live a more clutter-free and organized life (something I think will also aide in my weight-loss) I recently signed up for an online service called About One, which bills it’s self as an online productivity tool. After spending an entire day, and I think that’s something you need to be prepared for…you’ll need an entire day to set it up fully, AboutOne is showing me how to get organized and allows me to track our spending by keeping up with my household receipts. It’s also awesome because I don’t have to feel guilty about not scrapbooking, because AboutOne let’s me capture special moments (from each child’s birth story to their latest milestone) and even keep our family updated with a family newsletter. Thanks to the ability to keep all of our important papers in the cloud, AboutOne is showing me how to declutter not just my office, but it’s extending into the artwork areas, and the kid’s school work area making for a much more peaceful area. AboutOne isn’t just a digital scrapbook it’s a digital filing system and more!

If I can stick to using AboutOne for an entire year (which will run you about $30 a year), I should be able to keep my office clean…right? RIGHT? Ha. Yeah, I lol’d too.

But at least I won’t be buried by a mountain of paper work any more!

So now I have some awesome news: AboutOne.com is hosting a giveaway! You can win a $500 AMEX card for you and $250 to be donated to the school of your choice!

Last weekend I helped to coordinate the Women Create Media conference and attended BlogHer 2011 in San Diego & the week before that I spent the week on the beach on vacation, thanks to Verizon I was to stay connected the entire time with HTC’s ThunderBolt and Verizon’s 4G network.

Here in rural Kentucky we don’t have access to anything faster than a 3G network, so I was thrilled to get the chance to test out the difference in speeds and connectivity between the 4G and 3G. While at Women Create Media, I needed an easy way to stay connected to the founder, Lindsay Maines, and the other volunteer. Since none of us were native to San Diego, we might have had a little issue getting to the conference without a hitch and we might have gotten a bit lost, but thanks to my Verizon navigation (which kept right up with us), we were able to find our way there on time. Since being that far up the mountain can occasionally cause issues with connectivity, but thankfully I had the ThunderBolt to keep me connected and I never had to worry that my network couldn’t keep up. Every time I needed to surf the ‘net to get more information on the location of the venue, our sponsors, or our speakers, my phone sped right along without any issues.

Then, during BlogHer, while everyone with AT&T service was walking around struggling to find service, I never had to worry. Never once did my Verizon service fail or even for a minute lag. Not only is the ThunderBolt a hot looking phone with it’s sleek body and bright screen, this phone takes amazing video & pictures without ever skipping a beat. I am thrilled to have had the opportunity to test the brand new ThunderBolt from HTC.

Disclosure: I received no payment for this review only the pleasure of testing the product while on vacation and in San Diego. All thoughts and expressions are all my own.

We all know I’m Type-A, but did you know I am so Type-A that I’m already thinking about Christmas—even going so far as to already be purchasing Christmas gifts and choosing the perfect Christmas card for my loved ones and business? Well, I am! I am a huge (HUGE) card sender! I send them for every occasion, but most especially Christmas! I love giving and receiving, heck I even enjoy the process of picking out the perfect card for each loved-one individually.

This will be the first year Jonathan and I will be sending out business Christmas cards to our clients and I’m determined to find the perfect card that is both professional and personal. Do you send every person you know an individual Christmas card or do you only pick out special cards for your loved ones and send special bulk Christmas cards to everyone else like me?

Thanks to Storkie.com I can have a little Christmas in July and feed my Type-A tendencies with some fun Christmas card shopping. In fact, I’ve been perusing their site (not only because I’m sharing this sponsored post with you) this week in search of the best, or my favorite, Christmas cards to share with you and my loved ones. There are so many chose from on this site! I’m a huge fan of classic Christmas cards, some of my favorite Christmas cards are the classics. My grandmother always sent my very favorite cards and she always used to send cards with a cardinal on them.

I love the look of the classic cards, the nostalgic feel, and memories of Christmases gone by; I miss those Christmases and the family-togetherness that came along with it. Those Christmases are gone now and I’ve got girls of my own, I want to share the feeling of those times and the memories with them. I feel like if I can stay true to the nostalgia of those times in a small way by sending out classic Christmas cards…and maybe I’ll brighten someone else’s Christmas as well and help them remember fond memories of Christmases gone by.

In Scrapbooking Your Christian Faith, Donna encourages everyone, not just the gifted writers among us, to chronicle our lives and our faith in a way that speaks to generations to come. Throughout her e-book, Donna provides simple explanations and definitions of scrapbooking terms to help even the novice like me be successful and not feel overwhelmed. One of my favorite parts in the entire e-book is found in Chapter 2 when Donna describes a “faithbook”, or faith scrapbook, as an eternal love letter for your family. How beautiful is that? Who wouldn’t want to leave behind an eternal love letter?

Placed sporadically throughout, Scrapbooking Your Christian Faith, Donna has placed helpful and encouraging tips for the beginner (or expert) scrapbooker that helps you keep going and gives you a fantastic sense of belonging. For those of you who lack inspiration, Donna also includes examples of her own Christian scrapbooking (faithbooking) to help guide you and inspire you along your path. With nearly 100 pages of scrapbooking tips, encouragement, and faith-based teaching Donna Riner Weber offers the beginner and the expert scrapbooker another outlet for their creativity and an opportunity to glorify God in the process. I would highly recommend reading this if you’ve been looking for a way to share your faith with your family for generations to come.

Disclosure: I received a small nominal payment for this review, but all opinions and thoughts are honest and my own.
