Wordless Wednesday-LEGO Masterpieces

Yes, that’s right…Wordless Wednesday is also coming back and because I simply must share this awesomeness with the world, I bring you the LEGO masterpieces that Jon & the girls spent the holiday break creating.  Did I mention they’re still gracing Jon’s desk here in the office?  Cause they are.  Not that I mind really.  I’m super impressed with their abilities.  Even KJ got in on the fun with her giant crocodile!

Super Mario Brothers Lego

Here are the Super Mario LEGO creations KJ, KG and Jon created while the girls where home for Christmas break.

Cherokee, North Carolina: Portrait of a Family – Wordless Wednesday

Hello from the family!!  Our little unit traveled to the beautiful Cherokee reservation in Cherokee, North Carolina to camp with my sisters, one brother-in-law, my nephew, and my furry nephew as well.  We had a great time and are looking forward to returning for what will be our 6th year coming back to Cherokee and Indian Creek Campgrounds.

The Trick to Life is….

A couple of years ago I received a desk calendar made by paper coterie while attending a conference and was attracted to its uplifting quotes paired with sweet & simple illustrations. After the year was up, I could not bring myself to throw the calendar away, but rather I cut off the now irrelevant calendar part and stashed away the art for a later time.

I’ve recently come up with a way to use these to uplift friends and family throughout the year, but wanted to share this favorite quote with you first.  Tomorrow I’ll share how I plan to use these cute and positive pieces to spread joy, but until enjoy knowing the trick to life.

In the meantime, tell me how you’re living in the moment today.

Weddings Cause Families to Dress Up & Take Pictures – Wordless Wednesday

Wordless Wednesday – Views from the Kentucky State Capitol

Kentucky, capitol building

Kentucky’s Capitol Building was opened on June 2, 1910.

Not too long ago, the girls and I enjoyed our last day of summer by touring our beautiful state’s capitol.  Frankfort’s rich history and culture made for a day of fun and learning for everyone involved, while we were there we had the opportunity to tour the Capitol building, take a trolley tour, and more.  Since it was just me and the girls, I traveled without my big Canon camera and relied solely on my Samsung SIII to capture our memories.    Today I’m sharing some shots I grabbed from our tour of the Capitol building (and a quick shot of the Governor’s Mansion.)

The Kentucky Governor’s Mansion was built in 1912-14 and is under renovation until late 2012 – early 2013.

Do you and your family ever just go visit a local tourist attractions?

Wordless Wednesday – First Day of School 2012

wordless wednesday, back to school

Love these smiles!

This year is special, not that every other year isn’t, since KJ is starting Kindergarten this year and KG has moved on up to 4th.  I’m still struggling to figure out how this happened. I am so blessed to be their mother.

Wordless Wednesday – Adventuring with the Family

Last weekend Jon and I took the girls adventuring in Indiana and exploring in Squire Boone’s Cavern.  Here’s a look at some of the sights we were blessed with and tomorrow I’ll be writing about the experience.

Sunset Sunday – 7/29/2012

Today we spent the day exploring Indiana and once we got home we were met with the prettiest faint sunset I’ve seen in a while and it was actually cool enough to enjoy it!

Share your favorite sunset pictures and link up to Shanamama.com every Sunday!

Goofy & Pluto Get Goofy with the Kids – #WordlessWednesday

Silly Picture!

I attended Disney’s Social Media Mom’s Celebration at the end of April which allowed me to purchase tickets to Disney and hotel accommodations at a deeply discounted rate and afforded me one of a kind experiences, however all thoughts and feelings are my own.
