Thankfulness: Randomness

thankful thursdayIt’s Thankful Thursday again and the “theme” is Random.  So here are a few random things I am thankful this Thursday.

  • My middle sister found a job after 3 1/2 months of unemployment and was accepted to college!
  • New locks on the Doors.
  • Fresh Spring Air.
  • My Little Girls Lost Tooth.
  • My Hubby’s Job.
  • My Little Sister’s Due Tomorrow.
  • My Twitter Friends (you guys are awesome!!)

Father God,

My most precious Father in Heaven, Thank You.  You provide such a sweet peace in my life, and for that I am most grateful.  You are such an awesome God and an all knowing Savior…Thank You for my blessed, blessed life. I am unworthy and yet You still bless.  Thank You Jesus for my Salvation and for shedding Your precious Blood so that I might be clean…Thank You for my family; my beautiful children, wonderful husband, and extended family. Please put a hedge of protection around my family and friends. Protect my marriage and Hubby’s job.

In Jesus Name I pray,

A.

Thankfulness: Freedom

thankful thursdayThis week’s Thankful Thursday’s theme is Freedom.  How has Jesus freed you this week?

We were able to pay off all of our credit cards this week and it feels so good to be free from credit card debt.

I am also thankful that Jesus has freed me from worry.  I’m a worrier from way back…I have always read the many verses in the Bible prompting me to put all my worries on Him, but hadn’t ever done it.  Recently, I have learned to let go. Sorta.  I’m working on it.

Gracious Heavenly Father,

Lord Jesus, Thank You for teaching me and prompting me to let You take care of my life.  Take the reins.  I give You all of the praise and glory, and I give You all of my worries.

~Amen

Last weekend Hubby’s Granny was rushed to the ER in CC with extreme abdominal pain.  Hours later and after being rush to a hospital in Lex. we find out that Granny has a large tumor growing in her abdomen and the only recourse is emergency surgery.  After a three hour long surgery,  she was brought back to the room to recuperate.  By Sunday, she was sitting up in bed and mostly alert. We just received word the doctors got all the cancer!! and she won’t be needing any chemo or radiation! Thank YOU Jesus! I am thankful that she is recuperating rapidly!

I am also thankful for my tiny one.  KJ turned 2 Monday and seems to already act older.  KJ has brought so much light into an already blessed beyond belief family.  I have learned to slow down (some) this time and enjoy her.  KJ already has more empathy than many adults.  She has such a vibrant and beautiful personality, and the best sense of humor. KJ is rabidly KG’s girl.  She love me and she loves Daddy, but she is KG’s girl!  They do everything together when KG is home and would sleep in the same bed if I would allow it.

I am thankful for both of my girls and the blessing of raising them.  I pray I am able to raise them in a Godly manner and instill in them the values, morals, and empathy of Jesus.  I am some times overwhelmed by the responsibility required by being a parent and the inevitable guilt that comes along with it.  Overwhelmed? yes Thankful? You better believe it.

I am also thankful for my readers!  Thank you for coming back here day after day and chatting with me:)  I am truly grateful for you.

There are so many things I am thankful for…it’s hard to narrow it down to one thing.   I live a very charmed life; a new house, good husband, beautiful smart children, my health, loving extended family.

But, even with all of those fabulous giveaways, the thing I am most thankful for this week is knowing that in three short weeks (or a little more) I will be an Auntie for the very first time! I am going to be the ultra proud Auntie of the ever anticipated H.O. Shook.  My baby sister is due in the next 4 months, so I am praying fervently for his safe entry into the world and my sister’s health.  I am also praying that my sister’s husband is fully prepared for the onslaught that a new baby brings to your life.  Please pray with me for the safety of my sister, baby, and husband.

I love, love, love my Airwalk boots.  Yes, I know they look dirty (that’s just because I wear them EVERYDAY) and yes, I know I have big feet.  These shoes are the most comfortable pieces of footwear I have ever put on my feet. Now, I’m an AirWalk loyalist; I’ve been wearing Airwalks since I was about 10 and old enough to decide what kind of shoes to put on my feet. When I got these boots I thought they were ugly…I got them for a Christmas present about two years back. The big furry boot style was “In” then and I was having none of it. As a

common courtesy to my father I tried them on and I was sold. Instantly.  These are handsdscf0216 down the warmest, coziest, most comfortable shoes. Ever. I wear them everyday, all day. Yes, I even wear them to church. Not every Sunday.  I don’t wear skinny jeans so the fuzziness is rarely seen by the public, but even that part has grown on me.  The soles of these boots make you feel as though you’re walking on air. Really.  The name is the truth. There is enough room in the toes of the shoes so your tootsies don’t get “skwoooshed”:)  Seriously. I have huge, wide feet and these don’t squish or hurt my feet at all.  I even wear them instead of my house shoes around the house…they just keep my feet, and thus me, warm.

I have so many things to be thankful for this week, that I’m not sure where to begin.  Yesterday was my fabulous Hubby’s 26th birthday, the house went into escrow (I think), KG and I have had a phenomenal time at Vacation Bible School, OutRigger Island, a Christ-filled Youth group, and all the leaders at Providence that make so many of our programs possible.  I am always a little sad to see VBS come to an end and this year is no different. I will however have the majority of my VBS class on Sunday mornings.  It’s always such a blessing to see KG be blessed by her teachers and for myself to be blessed by these awesome kiddos.  I usually teach younger kids for VBS (but not KG’s class) and this year was the first I decided to take on the 5th & 6th Grade.  This is the age group Hubby and I teach for Sunday School so it seemed like it the natural choice for me.  I am so glad I did!  We have had SO much fun this year and the kids are at just the right age to be asking good, thoughtful, searching questions!  All of the kids in my class this year were already Christians, in fact, to of them were in my VBS class last year and got save then so it was nice to see them again this year.  Their being Christians already seemed to direct our class into more participation and study.  We have played so many fun games this week including a Aloha Potato Sack Race, the Human Pretzel, and a three legged race…Wait until they see what I have for them this evening.  I am so very grateful to the parents who bring their kids and the people who volunteer to drive the church van…without active people like these we wouldn’t even be able to have a VBS.

That’s me on the far right.
