Review~CoverGirl’s OutLast Lip Stain

outlast_lipstain_lipstick_1About a month ago BzzAgent contacted me with the opportunity to try out Cover Girl’s newest product, LipStain and tell others about it.

For those of you who don’t know what BzzAgent is or what they’re about I’ll give you a quick run down. BuzzAgent sends users free samples of new products, who then go out into their communities and talk up the products in hopes of generating positive “word of mouth.”  It’s really great and this is second “campaign” I’ve participated in.  They have some great products and over 50 companies who do their marketing with them. If you are interested in signing up and participating also, hop over to their website and sign up!

Cover Girl’s latest beauty venture is into the world of lipstains.  Usually reserved for department stores lipstains are lighter, -, and stay put longer than traditional lipsticks. Now, let me say that I’m going to be completely honest about my thoughts on this new lipstain. I’m usually skeptical when I hear “stays put for hours”, but as I love new makeup I was willing to give it a shot. [Read more...]

Money Talk Monday

I would like to take the opportunity on Monday mornings to discuss something that has been bothering me for sometime.  Why is that we, intelligent, motivated women have such a hard time realizing our financial dreams?  Don’t get me wrong, I don’t think happiness relies solely on having money, but I do think it can make it easier. Now, I’m sure this will stir up quite a bit of discussion and I welcome that, if fact, I encourage it!

Thankfulness: Things I love Thursday

tilt

dscf0215

I love, love, love my Airwalk boots.  Yes, I know they look dirty (that’s just because I wear them EVERYDAY) and yes, I know I have big feet.  These shoes are the most comfortable pieces of footwear I have ever put on my feet. Now, I’m an AirWalk loyalist; I’ve been wearing Airwalks since I was about 10 and old enough to decide what kind of shoes to put on my feet. When I got these boots I thought they were ugly…I got them for a Christmas present about two years back. The big furry boot style was “In” then and I was having none of it. As a

common courtesy to my father I tried them on and I was sold. Instantly.  These are handsdscf0216 down the warmest, coziest, most comfortable shoes. Ever. I wear them everyday, all day. Yes, I even wear them to church. Not every Sunday.  I don’t wear skinny jeans so the fuzziness is rarely seen by the public, but even that part has grown on me.  The soles of these boots make you feel as though you’re walking on air. Really.  The name is the truth. There is enough room in the toes of the shoes so your tootsies don’t get “skwoooshed”:)  Seriously. I have huge, wide feet and these don’t squish or hurt my feet at all.  I even wear them instead of my house shoes around the house…they just keep my feet, and thus me, warm.

Saving on My Grocery Bill

wfmw

I’ve been reading some really great posts about how to save money on groceries and wanted to highlight another fantastic ministry called Angel Food Ministiries. I buy a $30 box once a month and this helps me stretch our grocery bill just a little bit farther. You get a ton of food in each box and you are free to order any number of the “special” boxes that you might need after the first initial main box. Their website describes this ministry like this:

Angel Food Ministries, a non-profit, non-denominational organization, began in 1994 as a small outreach ministry serving a rural community in Georgia. The goal was to help neighbors who needed a hand up in a tough economic time. Today, Angel Food Ministries can be found in over 3,200 communities in 35 states and helps feed over 500,000 families a month.

Angel Food partners with churches and community organizations throughout the country to help distribute food to those in need. For $30.00* you can receive a box of food containing both fresh and frozen items. Our food items are top quality – we buy our food from major food producers throughout the country to ensure the best food comes to your table.

The food we have received has been grocery store quality for a fraction of the price. I was able to cut my grocery bill by nearly $200 a month just by taking advantage of the many deals I get in this box.

Using Angel Food Ministries is not just a great way to save on my groceries, it is a fantastic way to save my precious time.  When I have one of these boxes, I get to spend more time with my family and less time cutting coupons, checking out deals, shopping, and meal planning.  The meals are already planned for me thanks to Menus4Moms.  Menus4Moms offers a great service to those who participate in the Angel Food service, they go on and plan out weekly menus for a small fee.

This is just another GREAT way to supplement your grocery bill. For more information on the wonderful  ministry of Angel Food, click here. For more information about upcoming menus, click here.
